Born in Lockdown. Still Going Strong 6+ Years Later.
AFC Poker was started back in March 2020, the day the Covid Lockdown started in the UK. It was set up as a way to get back in touch with friends and have something to do whilst we couldn’t do other stuff – a way to stay connected, share a drink, and check in on each other.
Fast forward over six years, and we’re still here every single week. What started as a lockdown idea has evolved into a thriving community. We’ve outlasted the restrictions, but we kept the core ingredient: it’s about bringing people together.
It’s Not Really About the Poker…
If you’re looking to win the World Series of Poker or study advanced mathematical game theory, you are definitely in the wrong place.

We have a real mix of players. For us, the poker is just an excuse to reconnect, keep in touch with old friends, make new ones, and have a bit of banter. It’s also a lot of fun – maybe precisely because we barely know what we’re doing half the time!
